Coldplay’s highly anticipated tenth album, “Moon Music,” is set to release on October 4, 2024.
Produced by Max Martin, the album is available for pre-order now. Reflecting the band’s commitment to sustainability, the physical release of “Moon Music” is designed to be environmentally friendly.
It will be the world’s first album released as a 140g EcoRecord rPET LP, incorporating nine recycled PET-plastic bottles per copy.
This initiative will prevent the production of over 25 metric tonnes of virgin plastic and reduce CO2 emissions by 85% compared to traditional vinyl.
Additionally, Coldplay has partnered with The Ocean Cleanup to create a special Notebook Edition EcoRecord rPET LP, made from 70% river plastic recovered from the Rio Las Vacas in Guatemala.
The CD editions will also be groundbreaking, being the first to use EcoCDs made from 90% recycled polycarbonate, offering a 78% reduction in CO2 emissions and avoiding the use of over five metric tonnes of virgin plastic.
The first edition run of “Moon Music” will be limited and produced to a higher specification, with each EcoRecord rPET LP individually numbered.
