Undeniably among the best small bands in jazz historical past, the Miles Davis Quintet of the mid-Fifties featured an all-star line-up of Miles Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor sax), Purple Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly Joe Jones (drums). Their 1960 album Workin’ is launched as a part of the Authentic Jazz Classics Collection. The LP is pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI with all-analog mastering from the unique tapes by Kevin Grey at Cohearent Audio and introduced in a tip-on jacket.
