Avenue Survivors appeared in shops in October 1977, simply days earlier than Lynyrd Skynyrd’s touring aircraft crashed, tragically killing many members of the band. If the band had lived “Avenue Survivors” would have been seen as an unqualified triumph, a document that firmly re-established Skynyrd’s standing as the nice Southern rock band. The album achieved gold certification simply 10 days after its launch. It could later go double platinum. This album is being reissued in 180 gram vinyl.
